ECONOMIES IN BRITISH NAVY EXTENSIVE SCRAPPING LONDON, Oct. 28. In pursuance of its feeling of retrenchment the Admiralty announces that all the K class submarines will be scrapped except K 36, which, with four L class submarines, will form tho reconstituted First Submarine Flotilla. Tho Special Reserve of engineers and officers will be abolished and the Special Reserve of Royal Marine Officers reduced. Tho Second Squadron will bo reduced, the Calliope being placed in reserve. One of the destroyer flotillas attached to the Atlantic Fleet will be reduced to reserve. Reductions will also be effected in a number of tenders attached to the harbour training establishment at home ports.
