Alternative tenders by tho same contractor for a bridge were received by the Masterton County Council, the price for the timber bridge being £728 10s and for the concrete £705 15s. At a meeting of women held at Wanganui East yesterday, Mrs Duxfield presiding, addresses were given by Mr S. M. Dixon ,organiser for tho New Zealand Alliance, and the Rev. G. F. Cox.
