A WORD IN SEASON TO THE MAN IN BUSINESS
(To the Editor). Sir, —Do those business people who are afraid to come out into the open, and battle for what they believe to be right, grasp what that paltry attitude may mean to them? One hears of a man who will not do something because the opposition may refuse to buy ties, boots and stationery from him, and of another because his cakes, or oats, or whatever he happens to sell may be bought elsewhere. This is a stupid and selfish attitude, as was pointed out at one of the meetings, and really does not count; if it does, then from the British viewpoint of that particular customer you are better without, for he is of the type who will surely let you down someday. If the business man does not see the right man goes in, the man who will stand solidly against Bolshevistic influences, and whose party is likely to have some weight in the House, he will suffer far greater loss than the loss of this particular customer would be to him, and any member in the House not united to a party might las well not be there at all for any good he can do to anybody.—l Am, etc., AVENUE.
