Mr. A. Varney, who for the last 13 years has been associated with the Y.M.C.A. in New Zealand, has resigned from the national secretaryship of that movement.
Margaret Rangotukia, better known as Kate the Guide, died at Whakatane on Friday. Said to be 100 years old, she was born at the mission station, Opotiki, and was at one time a guide at Rotorua. She conducted the Dflkc of Edinburgh and the Duke of York when they visited the thermal district.
