RANGIWAHIA

(From the “Chronicle's” Special Correspondent.) On Monday, October 19, the Kimbolton Tennis Queen, in order to raise funds for her section of their carnival, staged a concert in this town. Items were contributed by performers from Feilding, Kimbolton, Ohingaiti and Rangiwahai. A very delightful programme was much enjoyed by the large audience. Mr Haythorne, the chairman, thanked all those who had helped with the programme and said that their help was much appreciated by th-? supporters of the tennis queen. He also expressed his appreciation of the way the local people had patronised the efforts. A dance followed, and a plentiful sunner was supplied by the Kimbolton ladies. Last Tuesday evening Mr Taylor the candidate for Oroua, held a well attended meeting in the local hall. His address was much appreciated and a vote of thanks was proposed by Mr McGregor and seconded by Air Morton. Mr. O. Dwyer was chairman. The local dairy company is unfortunate in losing their manager, Mr G. J. Arnold, after four years’ service. The tennis club had their opening day on Labour Day. The weather being fine, there was a good attendance of local members, who played tennis from morn till night. Afternoon tea was supplied by the ladies. A dance was held in the evening and was fairly well patronised. Music was supplied by several local musicians. Several car loads of people journeyed to Mangaweka to attend the Bible -'ass rally held there on Labour Day. The rally was very successful and a verv enjoyable time was spent by ail. Great interest is being taken in Joca< politics, ""he Reform League’s com mi ttee have arranged for the candidate to visit Alain South Road School at t2 o ’clock on Thursday.
