TWO MANGAWHERO MYSTERIES. A GRUESOME DISCOVERY. MAN’S BODY IN RIVER. The police in Wanganui received information yesterday afternoon that a body of a man had been found in the Mangawhero River near a locality known as tho island, about 38 miles from Wanganui. At present the identity is unknown, but it is surmised that the body will prove to be that of one of two missing men in the Kakatuhi district. ( Some time ago a man named Tuke i called at a roadman’s whare near Kakatahi and disappeared, while more recently a man named Killen was reported missing from a Public Works camp in that district. On both occasions the police made a search for the missing men, but without avail. The search wits both haz ardous and difficult, as in many places the river runs through a gorge formation. Sergeant Sivyer and Constable Rogers left Wanganui yesterday afternoon to bring tho, body to town. Lato last evening they returned land the body was conveyed to tho morgue. It was found in a nude and decomposed state at a point about 17 miles from where one of the men disappeared.
