VATICAN BORROWS FROM AMERICA. ONE AND A HALF MILLION DOLLARS. Received Oct. 26, 7.5 p.m. (Reuter) ROME, Oct. 25. For the first time in history, tho Vatican negotiated a loan from America amounting to ono land a half million dollars. Tho money was required for the purchase of a. villa adjoining tho Vatican for religious uses.
