N.Z. TEAM FOR AUSTRALIA PATRICK UNABLE TO GO. [Per Press Association.] CHRISTCHURCH, Oct. 24. It is definitely stated that W. R. Patrick, who wtas selected to captain tho New Zealand touring team, will not travel to Australia with the team as he is unable to make necessary arrangements. It will be necessary for the selection committee to hold another meeting before another captain can be chosen.
AUSTRALIAN PERFORMANCES. Received Oct. 25, 5.5 p.m. SYDNEY, Oct. 25. Playing for University against Mosman, Nothling made 120 and Hogg 90. For Glebe, against North Sydney, Foskett made 107 (not out). “For Petersham against Marrickvale, a new bowler, Sedger, was discovered. He took 5 for 45. Mailey, for Bailmain, secured seven Randwiek wickets for 95. For Cumberland against Northern Districts, Cranney made 127. For Gordon against Manly, Kelleway took six wickets for 54. For Waverley against St. George, O’Connor had a similar record. MELBOURNE, Oct. 25. For Prahran against Northcote, Lilley scored 100 (not out) and took 5 for 21. For Fitzroy against Collingwood, Tarrant made 97. For North Melbourne against Melbourne, Eblink took 5 for 50. ADELAIDE, Oct. 25. In the Sturt-West Torrens match, Scott, a former Sydney player, took 5 for 39.
