FREEMAN R. JACKSON AND CO.’S REPORT.
At Wanganui on Wednesday we yarded 500 head of cattle, 770 sheep and 113 pigs. Wc had a good attendance and report a good sale, practically everything being sold. All classes of cattle, sold well. Sheep maintained late values. Pigs advanced in values. We quote:—
Sheep.—Mixed hoggets (good), 345; medium hoggets, 30s to 31s 7d; b.f. hoggets (good), 31s Id; 2 and 4-tooth wethers, 34s 8d; fat ewes, 33s 6d to 345; store ewes, 20s. Cattle.—Light fat cows, £5 12s 6d to £6 13s; others, £4 15s to £5 ss; stores, £2 19s to £3 ss; 2-year heifers (good), £3 3s to £3 12s; P.A. 2-year heifers, £5 10s; 15-months to 2-year heifers, £2 5s to £2 15s; 3$ to 4-year bullocks, £9 to £lO 7s 6d; 2-year steers, £4 17s to £4 19s; 15-month to 2-year steers, £4 9s 6d; yearling steers, 33s 6d to £2 15s; forward cows, £4 4s; yearling heifers, 30s to £2; bulls, £3 10s to £5 15s; springing heifers, £3 4s to £4. Pigs.—Sows in pig, £4 12s 6d to £5 ss; medium do., £3 3s; empty sows, £2 10s; best porkers, £3 Is to £3 ss; good porkers, £2 10s to £2 15s; medium do., 84s; best weaners, 25s to 28s; medium do., 17s to 2 n s; small do., 13s to 14s; stores, 235. At Waverley sale on Friday, wc hud a medium yarding, which sold readily at ruling values. Hoggets, 24s 9d; store ewes, 255; mixed cattle, £3 8s; 2-yr ’• empty heifers, £3 15s to £4 Is; springing heifers, £4 10s to £6 10s; store pigs, 26s to 275; weaners, 19s.
