FEILDING SALE
FAIR YARDING OF CATTLE. DALGETY AND CO.’S REPORT. Dalgety and Co., Ltd., Palmerston North, report having a small entry of sheep and a very fair yarding of iattle at their Feilding sale on Friday. Quotations:— Sheep.—Woolly wether hoggets, 345; shorn wether hoggets, 27s 9d; shorn fat ewes, 29s 7d. Cattle.—Springing heifers, £4 15s, £5, £5 ss; cows in milk, £8; store cows, £2 os, £2 10s, to £2 15s; 2-ygar Jerseycross heifercs, empty, £3 6s; fat cows, £8 7s 6d to £11; fat heifers,, to £l2 10s; 2-year Jersey bulls, BJ, Bj. 9,9 s, to 10| guineas.
ABRAHAM & WILLIAMS’ REPORT
Messrs Abraham and Williams, Ltd., report on their Feilding sale on Friday as follows:—-A fair yardint of both sheep and cattle came forward. Bidding throughout was keen and the bulk tt the entry changed hands at satisfactory prices. Well-bred young cattle sold freely. Good sorts of heifers wcro keenly sought after, and a special entry of dairy cows, on account of Mr S. L. James, sold freely at advanced prices. There was an exceptionally large yarding of pedigree Jersey bulls, but competition was not keen, although the bulk of the yarding changed hands at prices in favour of purchasers. We quote:— Sheep.—Fat ewes, 34s 8d; m.s. hoggets, 28s lOd, 30s Id, 33s 7<l to 37s 4d; b.f. hoggets, 28s Id to 37s 6d; b.f. 2tooths (shorn), 28s 4d; 2-tooth ewes, 38s 6d. Cattle.—Fat cows, £6 to £11: fat heifers, £7 18s to £11; 2-year P.A. steers, £6 8s 6d, £7 2s 6d, to £7 9s 6d; 3-year P.A. steers, £8 7s 6d; yearling Jersey heifers, £2 16s, £3 to £3 16s 6d; forward cows, £2 10s to £3 10s; store cows, 80s to £2; dairy cows, £4, £6, £7 10s, £8 ss, £9, £lO 10s, £ll, £l2 ss, £l3, to £l4 10s; springing heifers, £3 10s, £4, £4 10s, £7 10s to £8 ss; heifers in milk, £2, £4, to £5 7s 6d.
