A SON OF RUA
DIES FROM GUNSHOT WOUND. WHAKATANE, Oct. 23. Henero Rua, aged 15, son of tho famous Rua of the Urewft country, died on Tuesday as the result of a shooting accident at Matahi, which occurred a month ago. Young Rua. was practising shooting with some mates, using a Winchester repeater, when a cartridge became jammed in the rifle. Rua placed the point of’the barrel against his thigh and hammered the cartridge with a stone. The cartridge exploded, and tho charge entered young Rua’s side. Ho was taken to hospital at Opotild, land died as tho result of blood poisoning.
