CHURCH NOTES
BAPTIST CHURCH At the close of the evening service at the Ingcstre Street Baptist Church l the monthly programme of sacred music will be rendered. It will include a solo by Miss Rita Tilley and a ’cello solo by Air Wayne. Miss Nellie Amies, who delighted the audience on Wednesday last at the Orchestral Society’s concert, will sing at the Aramoho Methodist Church on Sunday evening. Air. Syd Kendall will also sing. It will be a special Labour Day service, the subject of the address by the Rev. AV. H. E. Abbey being “Moscow or Bethlehem—a study in processes and methods.” A particular invitation is extended to supporters of the Labour movement who feel that the Church is not sympathetic towards their party’s ideals. A special day of singing by the young people at the morning and afternoon services, and of anthems by the choir in the evening is being observed at St. James’ Presbyterian Church, Wanganui East, on Sunday. In the afternoon the Young Worshippers’ prizes will be distributed, and the Rev. H. Beggs will preach. This will be a mothers’ and fathers’ service.
