JACOB’S DISQUALIFICATION
THE REASON WHY. Received Oct. 23, 5.5 p.m. LONDON, Oct. 22. The “Daily Telegraph” says that the Dutch Association handed Jhcob £B4, the proceeds of the match between India and Holland, instead of handing it over to representatives of the India Association. Jacob paid himself and players’ extra expenses without having the account scrutinised. These expenses included entrance fees for Wimbledon, which the representative of the India Association had declined to pay. (Jacob, captain of the India Diavis Cup team, was disqualified for ’ wrongfully paying the expenses of himself and the team).
