LANDS DEPARTMENT
STAFF PROMOTIONS. WELLINGTON, Oct. 22. A number of promotions in the Lands and Survey Department are announced. Two of them are incidental to the creation of new positions in the head office. Mr. W. Roberts, formerly departmental inspector, has been appointed Assistant Under-SecVctary, Mr J. H. O’Donnell, chief accountant, lias been created Controller of ’ Accounts and Land Revenue; Mr. J. R. AlacCormick, senior clerk at the head office, has been appointed chief clerk, vice Mr. W. R. Jourdain retired. Mr. S. Gambrill suceeds Mr. AlacCormick as senior clerk. Mr. J. F. Quinn, (assistant accountant at head office, has been appointed inspector. Mr. W. Shaw, accountant at Christchurch, succeeds Mr. Quinn at head office. Mr. T. Tudehope, Chief Clerk and Receiver of Land Revenue, at New Plymouth, has been promoted to the same position (at Auckland. Mr. J. A. Redman, senior clerk at Auckland, sucecds Mr. Tudehope at New Plymouth.
