Most harrowing stories arc told of how bullets and bayonets summarily ended aged stragglers. Piteous appeals were made for babies who were hurled over precipices, old women were massacred, and beautiful girls violated by officers and then callously thrown to soldiers. Over 100 women were sold to Kurdish harems. The Iraq Government is providing the refugees with necessities with the greatest difficulty and expense owing to the failure of tho crops.
