CHRISTCHURCH LOAN PROPOSALS [Per Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, Oct. 22. Polls were taken by the City Council to-day on proposals to borrow £12,000 for improving and extending the abattoir and £25,000 for erecting an art gallery. Both were rejected, the former by 2088 to 1855 and the latter by 2860 to 1090.
