Messrs Abraham and Williams Ltd. report on Fcilding sale held on 24th inst.: A good yarding of sheep and a small one of cattle met with a keen sale. Several lines of very good hoggets were yarded and prices for those showed a marked improvement on previous week’s quotations. The cattle entry consisted mostly of dairy stock, which sold at late rates. We quote:— Sheep.—Fat wethers £2 0s fid to £2 3s; fat ewes 30s 6(1, 31s, 345, 32s (id, lo 32s 6d; wether hoggets 26s 10, 28s sd, 26s Id to 26s sd; ewe hoggets 32s 2d to 32s fid; wether hoggets 26s JOcl, 28s 5(1, 29s lOd: mixed hoggets 24s 3d; ewes in lamb to Romney £2 3s to £2 4s; ewes in lamb to Southdown 30s to 30s fid. Cattle.—Springing heifers £3 ss, £5 13s fid, £5 16s, £6 7s (id, £7 5s to £7 I Os; dairy cows £3 10s, £4 5s fo £4 15s; weaner Jersey heifers, £2, £2 16s; empty heifers £2; store cows 25s to £2 2s 6<l; forward cows £2 ss, £2 12s fid, £2 18s 6d to £4 4s; fat cows £4 15s, £5 7s 5d to £fi 4s; fat bullocks £7.

Dalgcty and Co., Palmerston North, report having a very fair yarding of sheep and a small entry of cattle at their Fcilding sale on Friday, the 24t.h inst. There was good competition for sheep and practically all lines changed hands, a sharp rise being shown in fats. Quotations: — Sheep.—Fat ewes. 28s, 325, to 37s 9d; wether hoggets, 30s; m.a. ewes. In lamb to b.f. rams, 24s 9d, 31». 36s 5d to 38s Id. Cattle.—Yearling heifers, 255; store cows, £2 to £2 17s fid; 2A-year empty heifers, £3 10s; crossbred heifers, in milk, £3 15s to £4. Competition was only fair although the majority of the yarding wtas cleared. Quotations. —Aged ewes i.l. S.D. rams 18s fid to 19s; 4 am] 5 year owes i.l. S.D. rams 33s 7d to 35s Id: ditto Rom rams 34s 6d; 2 tooth ditto £2; cull lambs 14s; small lambs 20s to 23s 6d.
