ON THE MINIATURE RANGES OFFICIAL OPENING OF NEW RANGE. The official opening of the Association’s new range in the industries shed on the racecourse took place on Saturday afternoon. Mr R. Farley (patrun of the Association) tired the first shot, the target showing a centre bull. He then declared the range opened. Two sweepstake handicap competitions were fired, twenty men competing, the first ending in a tic between two .juniors (Rennie and Christiescn), but in the count back Rennie was declared the winner. The following are the scores:— No. 1 SWEEPSTAKE. (Seven shots).

The Association intend holding another competition, at a future date. The thanks of the Association are due to the Castlecliff Ladies’ Club, who kindly supplied a dainty afternoon tea.
