ALTERATION OPPOSED BY PRESIDENT. Received Julv 26. 5.5 p.m. NEW YORK, July 25. A message from Swanpscott states that President Coolidge will not sanction the revised Tariff Act by next Congress, in the belief that practically lhe same trade and business conditions exist now between the United States and foreign nations as prevailed when lhe present Act was created. The President is particularly averse to (dianges in the tariff at this time, because of the possible effect on busi ness by bringing about a situation of uncertain! v.
