PLUNKET SOCIETY. With the object of raising funds for the payment of its quota of the saU»” r due to the Plunket Nurse, the Bulls branch of the Plunket Society is holding a gramophone recital in the Clifton Hall on Monday, July 27 at 2.30 p.m. and is also having a street collection. This branch of the society is struggling against great difficulties. The membership is very small and little interest seems to be taken in the work. The nurse is in attendance every sale Monday for the purpose of advising and helping mothers, and, if needed would come to special cases. It is well known that the Plunket system is responsible for the saving of many infant lives and the improved health of young children. It is a grand work, but cannot be carried on without funds. It is to be hoped that the public of Bulls will support the society liberally on the 27th inst. and place the branch in a good position. It would certainly give encouragement to the members of the local committee to feel that the salary due for the ensuing year was in hand.
