WANGANUI EAST Bidding was more spirited *f. Wanganui .East sale yesterday thnji has been the case for some time. Tho sheep entries were on the small side and did not command much attention, but a better tone prevailed when tho cattle pens were reached, there being good competition for both fats and good quality stores. Fat, ewes reached 30s fid, and wethers 38s 3d. The highest price for bullocks was £9 2s, and for cows £5 10s. The following aro tin' quotations:— Shoop.—Five-year owes in lamb 31s Id; 28 fbt owes 30s 6d; 31 ditto 22s 7d; fat wethers 38s 3d. Cattle.—Fats: Bullocks £9 2s; 8 fat cows £5 2s 6d; do. £5 10s; fat bullocks £8 16s; do. £7 10s. Store pens.—Four onws £3 2s; steer 555; 5 2Lyoar steers £5 15s; 2 steers £4 7s 6<l; 2 heifers 465; Hereford bull £3; 28 mixed yearlings £2 9s; 2 empty cows £2 2s 6d; 9 21-year steers £6 ss; 21 heifers £3.
