BIG EARTHQUAKE
JAPANESE VISITATION EQUALLED. PROBABLY IN CENTRAL AMERICA. Received June 26, 10.30 p.m. NEW YORK, June 25. A telegram from San Jose (California) says: An earthquake, approximately of the same violence as the recent Japanese one, centred probably in Central America, and continuing for over an hour and a half, was registered at Santa Clara University. It started at six to-night.
RECORDED AT RIVERVIEW. Received June 26, 11.25 p.m. SYDNEY, June 26. The Sydney Riverview Observatory reports a most severe earthquake recorded probably in the vicinity of Port Moresby.
