WIRELESS FOR LIFEBOATS
LONDON. June 8. The Meloja has sailed from Tilbury. She is the first Australian liner to carry lifeboats equipped with the new types of Marconi wireless, with a directional receiver enabling the occupants to locate the nearest ship and to summon help. The apparatus was designed as a result of the Travessa disaster.
