BIG POWER SCHEME
TO UTILISE BIVER SEVERN. Received May 8, 5.5 p.m. LONDON, May 8. Mr Shaw, at a meeting of the Parliamentary Labour Party, stated that if a favourable report was forthcoming from the committece investigating the proposed twenty-five millions’ scheme for the erection of a barrage across the river Severn, for the purpose of generating electrical power, the Government will facilitate the carrying out of the scheme.
