DROWNING ACCIDENT. (Per Press Association). AUCKLAND, March 26. Herbert John Taylor, 39, a blacksmith of Turua, Thames, was drowned off Huia Point, Manakau Harbour, last evening. With his brother Norman, Taylor went out in a dinghy to inspect fishing nets. Three sharks were in the net, and their struggles upset the boat. Both mon started to swim ashore. Norman landed, but Herbert, who was a good swimmer, got into difficulties. The efforts of Norman to rescue him were unsuccessful. KILLED BY A TREE. AUCKLAND, March 26. A farmer -named John Darragh, of Glenfield, aged 70, died as the result of head injuries received through being struck by a tree he was felling this afternoon. Deceased was a widower. FATAL ACCIDENT. DUNEDIN, March 26. William George Millar, aged 19, was driving a dray in Opoho (a suburb of Dunedin) this afternoon when the horse took fright and bolted. Millar was thrown off into the gutter, where lie was kicked and sustained a broken jaw. The dray then pissed over his chest. The unfortunate man died almost immediately. The horse continued on its way, and another workman named Allan Adams, in attempting to stop it, sustained a fractured ankle and was removed to the hospital.
