sacred concert. HIS MAJESTY’S THEATRE NEXT SUNDAY. The Swankers’ Club executive has been fortunate in securing the services of Mr. W. Goudie, of Wellington, who i s now appearing at the Opera House. Mr Goudie is the possessor of a very fine voice, and his item will afford patrons of the concert a treat rare to such functions. Mr. Goudie and Mr. Campbell (manager Bristol Piano Co.) will b e associated in a duet. Both these gentlemen belong to the famous Wellington Quartette, and their joint item should be greatly appreciated. In addition, the Queen Alexandra Band and several of the leading local artists will contribute to the programme, so that patrons wilU be rewarded with a first-class entertainment. Admission will be by silver coin, and the proceeds are in aid of the Swankers’ Club Charity Funds.

The social service section of the Baptist Young Peoples’ Institute journeyed to the Jubilee Home last evening, and gave a very interesting programme. About 30 young people made the trip, and the old folk thoroughly enjoyed the many items rendered. Items wer e ’ given by Misses Buller, Minnell, Bateman, Ward, Robertson, Fear, Springer, Hughes, and Messrs. Reynolds, Mayne, and Minnell. The accompaniments were played by Miss Minnell and Mr. Nelson.
