WAITOTARA NOTES.
(From Our Own Correspondent). A very successful euchre party and dance was held here on Thursday night last, in aid of the hall requirements. There was a good attendance. Music was supplied by local talent, which was much appreciated, as their services were given gratis. Dancing was kept going till an early hour. Quite a number of parents and children of our local school availed themselves of the cheap excursion to the school sports at Patea on Saturday last. An enjoyable day was spent there by one and all.
Our recreation ground here is looking in splendid order at present. Now we have a, local energetic committee we would like to see those gates, that have been so long in abeyance, erected. If the committee would get a hustle on I see no reason why a special effort could not be made, as we shall soon have Anzac Day here again and nothing done. These gates would be a decided improvement to our Domain. We are having an exceptionaly good autumn, with plenty of grass, which will carry us through the winter. There is a temporary lull in butter fat prices, due to lack of regulation in shipments. It is very pleasing to see the wool prices keeping up. The farmers are wearing a much more contented smile.
