ARBITRATION COURT
THE SHEARING DISPUTE. (Per Press Association.) BLENHEIM, July 11. At the Arbitration Court sitting here to consider an application by the Marlborough Shearers’ and Shed . Hands’ Union for an award concerning the rates of pay, hours, etc., for shearers during the coming season. After hearing evidence His Honour said it was agreed in AVellington that no local award should be decided on till the Court had done so far as Christchurch and Otago. The question could then be decided whether the parties would be prepared to take a local award or a Dominion award. Further opportunity would be given to discuss the award then. in the meantime the Court would not deal with the shearing dispute in the Auckland, district.
