FORD AND THE PRESIDENCY
PETITION S IX HIS FAVOUR. NEW YORK, May 16. Large numbers of petitions have been signed in Kansas, Minnesota, Illinois, Indiana, South Dakota, Colorado and other States recommend ing that the name of Henry Ford, whose wealth now exceeds that of Rockefeller, be placed on the primary ballot next year as the Progressive party candidate for President of the United States. The promoters of the petition say that as the largest business in the United States is the Government, it ought to have the best business brains to run it. They regard Ford as a worker of economic miracles, for at one and the same time he has demonstrated that he can pay high wages to his workers and sell his products at lower prices than any other man in the world. Therefore, having proved his ability, the petitioners declare that Ford should be President.
