MINIATURE RIFLE CLUB. The following aie the scores for luesday night’s shoot for Mr A. Dalziell’s medal for the best three shoots out of five :

TOWN IMPROVEMENTS. A special meeting of the Board was held on Tuesday night. Present —Crs. Bowick (chairman). McManaway, Gordon, ('king. Dukcson. Carruthers and Morrison. The question of metalling the roads ■was discussed, and it was resolved, on the motion of Mr McManaway: That all the members of the Board meet Mr Mair on a day to be fixed by the chairman within the next twenty-one days, and inspect the whole of the roads and footpaths in the town with a view to placing a comprehensive street improvement scheme before ratepayers. He said every road should be inspected. His mind was open in regard to tarsealing but they should metal all the roads first. Cr. Gordon seconded the motion,

which was carried unanimously. It was also resolved that the Board take steps to build a library and Town Board offices, fire station and ladies’ rest room. It was decide ! to inspect th© roads and footpaths on Wednesday, May 30, commencing at 10 a.m. Mr Mair will accompany the members.
