YARRA MURDER MYSTERY.

ADJOURNED. MELBOURNE, March 2. The inquest on the victim of the Yarra tragedy was adjourned till Wednesday. A DENTAL CLUE. MAY PROVE IDENTIFICATION. k MELBOURNE, Feb. 15. r Every tooth has been extracted from the jaws of the girl whose body was recently found in the Yarra. Now the brother of Bertha Coughlan has assured a press representative that his sister had three or four teeth remaining in the lower • jaw. It is believed this statement will be endorsed by two dentists, and upon this point may depend the identification of the victim and perhaps the fate of those charged with complicity in the case. “We will provide most positive evidence that the body found was that of Miss Coughlan.’’ said Detective Pigott this morning. The fact that Mr. Coughlan, sen., had the remains buried at his own expense shows he had little doubt the victim was his daughter. On the other hand, none of the Gippsland people who knew Bertha Coughlan believe she could have placed herself in a position which the circumstances of the tragedy suggest. The women charged in connection with the case will probably be remanded again on Monday. The detectives are much concerned over the disappearance of an ’ important witness, Albert Milward, aged 15, son of Margaret Milward, one of the accused. The police think he has been spirited away, and have taken out a warrant for his arrest on a charge of being a neglected child. He was earning a pound a week in an insurance office until he disappeared.
