STOCK SAGES. Messrs Dalgety and Co., Ltd., Palmerston North, report:— We held our usual fortnightly sate at Taihape on Wednesday, 12th inst., when a fair yarding of sheep and a small entry of cattle came forward. There was a good attendance of buyers, and all classes of sheep met with ready sale at late rates, but there was a keen demand for ewes in lamb. Cattle were dull of sale -and prices were anything but encouraging. We quote:—Mixed sex lambs to 13/6)-4-tooth wethers, medium, to 17/1; 4-tooth wethers 22/1 to 22/9; mixed ages ewes, in lamb to Romney rams, 14/6 to 24/3. Cattle: Cows in calf £2 4/- to 3 10/-; others £1 10/-; yearling heifers 22/6; yearling steers 20/-; yearling steers, good, to £2 1/-. We had a good entry of stock and implements at our Hunterville sale on Tuesday, 11th inst., which sold as below:—Small 4-tooth ewes 17/10;4-year bullocks £4 19/-; 3year steers £3 10/-; fat heifers £2 15/-; draught horses £l4 to £l5 10/-; hacks and ponies £4 15/- to £9; waggon £39; tip dray £l5; gig £2O; d.f. plough £l6; Tyne harrows £4 5/; chain harrows £6 5/-; disc harrows £lB 10/-; potato planter, £l7. A quantity of harness and sundries sold at good prices. ,
