THE TIRTSCHKE MURDER.
HIGH COURT HEARING APPEAL APPLICATION. Received March 29, 10.30 p.m. SYDNEY, March 29. The High Court has commenced the hearing of an aplication by Ross for special leave to appeal against the sentence of death in connection with the Gun Alley murder on the ground that the decision of the Victorian Court of Criminal Appeal in refusing an appeal was wrong in law. Counsel for Ross submitted that the confessions on which Ross was convicted were the result of a conspiracy as the woman Matthews was at daggers drawn with Ross.
