SOUTH AFRICAN COMMISSION.
CAPETOWN, March 28. In the Assembly, General Smuts announced that the Government had completed arrangements for the appointment of the promised Commission to inquire into the industrial issues arising from the strike terms. The personnel of the Commission is Sir William Solomon (chairman), Sir Robert Kotze (Government mining engineer), Sir Carruthers Beattie (Principal of the University of Capetown.) Through the assistance of the British Government, the Union Government will also be able to secure the appointment of Mr William Brace, Ijabour Adviser to the British Ministry of LalbouW, v*hos;a knowledge of Labour and mining conditions will be of greatest service.
The Commission will commence Its sittings almost immediately.
