TURAKINA HEALTH CAMP.
PRIVATE SCREENING OF ENLIGHTENING PICTURE.
The Children’s Health Camp, which was held at Turakina towards the end of last year in the picturesque grounds of Mr B. P. Lethbridge’s homestead, was filmed by the Government cinematographer. The resultant picture was privately screened at His Majesty’s Theatre yesterday afternoon, before an interested audience of school teachers, Board and Committee members, and others interested in the production of public health. Prior to the screening, Mr A. W. Collins, Chairman of the Education Board, apologised for the unavoidable absence of Dr. Elizabeth Gunn, School Medical Officer, to whose energy, enthusiasm and organising ability the success of the eamp was due. Mr Collins warmly eulogised the work of Dr. Gunn and her capable associate, Nurse Wise. The picture illustrated in an instructive and comprehensive manner the various aspects of the work, and afforded convincing evidence of the beneficient results achieved. The picture will, we presume, be shown throughout the Dominion, and the lesson it so forcefully conveys should lead to the widespread development of the work.
