PATEA HOSPITAL BOARD.

The usual meeting of the Patea Hospital Board was held yesterday. It was decided to support the Otago Hospital Board in its claim co have audit fees reduced, instead of their being increased. Prices of cost of repairing mattresses had been obtained from Palmerston North and Hawera firms, end these were quoted at £3 each. This price was considered too much, and it was decided to obtain other prices. The question of obtaining coal supplies direct from the mines was discussed at length, but no action was taken. Dr. Vaiintine wrote re a complaint made by J. N. Williams with reference to the treatment of his late vife at the hospital. The Board went into committee and after discussion they decided to reply to the communication.
