RANGITIKEI RUGBY UNION. The Junior Cup match between Turakina a.nl Sandon resulted in a draw, each side scoring a try The Marton Thirds defeated Hunterville 4 Birds at Huntervillo on Wednesday by 11 points to 3. Tries were scored by Bonnetti (2) and McSweeney, the latter converting one and Coleman scored a try for Hunterville. The Wanganui selector (Mr A. Takarangi) has forwarded Nero Kane’s name (Alai ton) as full-back for the Maori team to play against the Springboks. Kane is undoubtedly the best full-back that has played for Rnngitikei for some time and is worthy of a. place in the team.
On Saturday, 13th August, the Rangitikei reps. will moot Ruapehu at Alarton in a match for the Pownall trophy. On the same date the Rangitikei junior reps, will travel to Wanganui for a. return game with the Wanganui juniors.
