MUNICIPAL ELECTIONS.
ARRANGEMENTS FOR TO-DAY. The municipal elections will be held to-day. The hours for polling are 9 a.m. to 7 p m., and the booths are at the following places:— Drill Hall. Maria Place. Council Chaufhers, St. Hill Street. Town Hall, Wanganui East. Methodist Sunday Schoolroom, Keith Street. I Presbyterian Sunday Schoolroom, j St. John’s Hill. I Methodist Sunday Schoolroom. Aramoho. I Dixon’s Store, Durie Street, Durie Hill. I There are two candidates for the | Mayoralty, Mr T. B. Williams (the present Mayor), and Mr H. Oakley Browne. # There are 24 candidates for the | Borough Council, 11 being retiring I councillors and 13 new candidates | who offer their services. Those seekiffg re-election are Messrs Jas. Aitken, C. H. Burnett, I Jas. Donaldson, A. -A. Gower. R. W I Green. W. M. Luxford, J. C. Richardson, C. J. Sharpe, L. J. Sigley, G. Spriggens, and A. Thompson. I The new candidates are Mrs ComI yns and Messrs J. W. Crampton. W ]S. Dustin. E. W. Gohns, A. E. Hall! | gan, F. A. Harkness. A. Harris, H. ! Lawrence, K. G. Malcolm, H. V j Maunder, W. R. Nelson. J. M. Speed, l and J. G. Swan. Messrs Dustin, Hark I ness and Harris have previously servi ed on the Council. I There are five ’candidates for the . Mrs Cornyns and Messrs Battle and Sharpe are retiring members, while 'Mrs Siddells has previously been on the Board.
