(Pei- Press Association.) . HAWERA, Nov. 4. ' In March, 1915, Harry Morris, a jeweller of Hawera, mysteriously disappeared; all trace of him was lost. /He left Hawera for Wellington on business and npthing further was heard of him, though enquiries were made in New Zealand and Australia. Mrs. Ettie Morris, his wife, has now received news of his death, on September 29th, at Caulfield Military Hospital. It appears that Morris volunteered in the A.I.F. in July--1915, and served through the war. Just before he died he made known to the Jewish chaplain his identity. Deceased had expressed a desire to partake in the war. He was most enthusiastic in the formation of the local defence corps. For some yeans he was a Borough Councillor.
