A MISSING SCHOONER.
(Per Press Association.) AUCKLAND, Nov. 4. The latest news regarding the missing auxiliary schooner Jubilee is not reassuring. News was received in Auckland yesterday by wireless from H.M.S. Veronica that the schooner, which left Auckland on August 15th for Nieue, had not reached that Island. Fears are entertained for the safety of the vesher crew and passengers, although it is possible she may have met with trouble and have put in to one of the outlying islands. The Jubilee, which is under the command of Captain W. Champion, took a full cargo of general merchandise and several horses for Niue. After leaving Auckland she put into Kawau, where she remained for several days. Since then she has not been heard of. She has a crew of nine, and the following passengers on board—Mrs. Haller, Messrs Haller, Head, Evans and three natives, all of whom resided at Nieue. The schoonei- is owned by L. S. Maxwel, Limited, and is a vessel of 105 tons register. She is fitted with an oil engine. As it was in July that the Jubilee was last at Nieue, it is anticipated that the white residents there will be now almost entirely without European foods.
