PERSONAL.
Lieutenant Andrew, V.C., is at. present in Wellington. His portrait is now being painted for the National War Museum collection by Mr H. Linley Richardson. R.8.A., to whom the commission was given. A private letter received in town yesterday reported the regrettable fact that Miss Florence Young, the well known and popular actress, whose name is familiar to patrons of Williamson’s productions, is lying seriously ill in hospital in Sydney. The funeral of the late Mr Hori Kerei took place yesterday afternoon, the remains being laid to rest alongside the body of his father, Kawana Faipai, in the Putiki Cemetery. Ten members of H.M. Veterans, under Major Lomax, attended to pay their tribute of respect to their old comrade. There was also a large attendance of Maoris. The last rites at the graveside were impressively conducted by the Rev. A. O. Williams.
