DRUNKENNESS IN ENGLAND.
INCREASED CONVICTIONS. LONDON, July 29. The convictions for drunkenness in 1919 in England and Wales were 66.848 compared with 29,075 for the previous year: A Blue Book attributes the increase partly to more policemen being available on street duty, longer drinking hours, stronger liquor, more money and less self control;
