FARMERS HONOUR SIR JAMES WILSON. (Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON, July 29. Sir James Wilson, who is not seeking re-election to the position of president of the New Zealand Farmers’ Union, was to-day appointed a life member of the Dominion Executive. The following motion was also carried by file Conference : “That this Conference desires to place on record its ap preciation of the great service rendered by Sir James Wilson to the fanners of Now Zealand during the past 20 years as Dominion President; that an appropriate illuminated address be prepared and presented to him on the first suitable oportunity, setting forth his unique and honourable record of 20 years’ presidency of the Union, his extensive and valuable services in many other ways to his fellow farmers, and his generous and long continued work in connection with the “Farmers’ Union Advocate” from the period of its inception to the present, and, last but not least, our hearty acknowledgment of the fact that Sir James Wilson has earned, and will retain, the universal love and esteem of every member of the Union who has had thy pleasure of forming his acquaintance; and that a committee be set up to carry this resolution into effect.
