THE DOUBLES CHAMPIONSHIP. Received 9.45 p.m.. Jan. 29. SYDNEY, Jan. 29. The weather was fine and the courts in good condition for the concluding day of the tennis tournament. After a protracted and exciting display of first-class tennis, O’Hara Wood (Victoria) and Thomas (South Australia) defeated Lowe (England) and Anderson (New South Wales) in the final for the Doubles Championship of Australia 7 —5, 6 —l, 7—9, 3 —6, 6 —3. The winners last year won the world’s doubles championship at Wimbledon. WANGANUI TENNIS CLUB. The following teams have been selected for Saturday, January 31: A team against St. John’s, at Wanganui Club:—Messrs Powdrell, Pownall, Vance, Baird, G. Wells,, J.
