CHURCH’S CALL TO A CRUSADE. (To the Editor.) Sir,- —Probably some correspond ence will follow on your interesting leading article on the above subject. It would be as well to state a few facts about which there is no dispute. In the good old words of Euclid “that it be granted that”— (1) The estimated population of the world is 1.646,000,000. (2) The Christian population is 564,000,000. (3) The non-Christian population is 1,082,000,000. (4) The principal combatants in the late war were Christians. These figures are taken from Whitaker’s Almanac, 1919. I hope that in any controversy which may take place you and your correspondents will bear these facts in mind. — I am, etc.,
