SOLDIER POLITICIANS.
The number of men who have "done their bit" in the war offering themselves for election to too Parliament of New Zealand is remarked on an Australian paper, which enumerates them as follows: There are two colonels, D. Colquhoun (Dunedin) and G. Mitchell (Wellington). The Majors are Hine and Coates, present holders of portfolios in the Massey ?linistry. Captain Tom Seddon is the sitting member for Westland. Lieut. V. Potter will contest the Roskill seat, and Lieut. W'. Downie Stewart will do his best to keep his seat in Dunedin East." The list is correct as far as it goes, but there ar j a number of other returned soldiers seeking to be elected. Some of these, representing all fanks, are Messrs Clutha Mackenzie and L. J. Garnson in Auckland: air P. H. Watts, Hamilton; Mr W. J. 'Jordan, Raglan; Messrs W. Meldrum (ex-brigadier-general) and W. S. Glenn, Rangidkei; Mr J. McKenzie, Otaki; and Mr D. Q. O'Brien, Buller; while probably there are some others. All vaaks of the Expeditionary Force and all shades of political opinion are repiisented.
