The usual hides and tallow sale was held at Wellington on Friday last by the New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Dalgety and Co., Levin and Co., and Abraham and Williams.
Hides, —Ox, heavy 175dt0 18§d; medium 17d to 183 d; light 17d to 19d'; cut and slippy 14d to 17 7-8 d; cow, heavy 17d to 18 5-8 d; medium 155 d to 19 l-8d; cut and slippy 9£d to 17 5-8 d; yearling and hips 18 7-8 d to 30d; cut and slippy 10d to 27d; calf, cut and slippy 10* d to 37d; bull stag 8 l-8d to 12d; horse 12/ to 20/3. Tallow. —In casks 6/ to 71/6; in tins 22/ to 68/. Sundries.—Horsehair 15d to 18d; tails 12d to 18d.
