An interesting little function was made in Messrs Dalgety and Co.'s office the other day, when, to mark the approaching marriage of two esteemed members of the staff, Mr L. S. Randal and Mjss McDonald, a presentation of a case of cutlery was made. In asking the acceptance of the gift, the manager, Mr F. W. G. Herdman, spoke in eulogistic and appreciative terms of the recipients and wished them every success in their future lives. Mr Randal briefly replied.
It is with sincere regret we have 'to record the passing of another pioneer settler of Wanganui in the person of Mr James Graham. The deceased gentleman, who was a native of Scotland, bad resided in Wanganui for almost half a century, during w.hich time Jie had carried on business as a plumber and tinsmith. He was a man of quiet disposition, but his sterling worth gained him the highest esteem of a very wide circle of friends. To the bereaved widow and son and daughter we tender our sympathy.
