Opuuake yards, on Monday, there was a good yarding of cattle, and almost the whole of the entry was sold under the hammer. Prices were good for store cows, but young cattle were not as easy to quit. Quotations:—Best cows to £12/5/-, forward cows. £10/2/6 to £11/18/-, lighter £6 to- £9/10/, cows with calves at foot £§L/ 10/-, yearling heifers £4/1/- to £5, Jerseys to ,?S, 2-year-old heifers- 6/17/6, steers £7, Jersey bulls 20 guineas, Jersey heifers to £12. .

At Maaaia on Tuesday there 'was a large entry, composed mainly of good cows and heifers. These sold well at late rates. Fat cows made £13/17/6 to £14/5/-, forward cows £10 to £12, others to £9, goor yearling heifers £5/12/- to £7/4/-, bulls to 17 guineas, woolly hoggets 37/6, shorn 33/-, ,weaner pigs 35/-, stores £4/3/-, sows in farrow £6/10/-; horse, gig, an i harness, account Mr Wm. b.u£gan,'£Bl.

On the .same day at Stratford cattle came, forward in .good numbers, practically every pen in the yards being filled. Buyers were in atttendar.ee and a good sale resulted, almost the whola yarding being cold at auction at late rates.

At Inglewood on Wednesday there was a full yarding of cattle and a small entry of sheep. There was a good demand for store cows, and also well grown year and year and a half old heifers, one, pen of the latter fetching £7/10/-. There was a very •limited demand for all classes of steers. The few peps of sheep brought good money. Quotations: —Woolly hoggets, small 24/6, shorn hoggets 2 6/6, fat cows (extra good) £17/5/-, bullocks (medium weights) £15/2/6, forwar* cows £10 to £12 2/6, others £6 to £9. three-year-eld steers (fair) £8/15/-, two-yearold .heifers "6/17/6, yearling steers to £4/10/-, dairy co-vs to £17/10/-, well grown yearlings to £7/10/-. At Auroa yards on Friday we held our usu.il fortnightly sale, when we: had a good entry of cattle. Vendors had come prepai'ed to sell, and a clearance was effected at satisfactory prices. Bulls (for the works) £11 to £12, forward cows to £11, others to £9, good IS-month-old steers £4 15/-, extra good heifers (at the drop) to £18/5/-, cows to £14/10/-.
