PROTEST FROM GONVILLE.

"The gas supply in Gonville is a disgrace," said (Joutr. Pearoe at a meeting or the Gonviile Town Board last evening. lie added, that he ixad, hatt the unpleasant experience of tea by candle-light, owing to the deficiency oi the municipal supply. If the state of affairs was due to inferior or- small wains, it was the duty of the Borough Council to put the matter right; otherwise the Hoard oould consider nullifying the agreement, and seeking some other light.

The Board decided to write to the Council, and Comrs Svenson and Pearoe were deputed to wait on the Borough Ga« Committee.
